2025: The Year Finance Teams Started Trusting Machines with Money

Life has ups and downs - to declare a year unilaterally good or bad is a lazy exercise. 2025 was a year like any other WITH ONE major exception - it was the year that people got fed up with grandiose promises, blanket statements and fear mongering about AI.

The novelty wore off, the expectations went way up.

A year ago, we were still explaining why AI agents could actually automate finance operations. Today, our customers are closing their books in hours instead of weeks. That shift happened because we stopped building features and talking about the brave new world and started eliminating work.

What we accomplished in 2025:

300% more companies now trust streamOS to run their contract-to-cash operations. These aren't pilots or experiments, these are finance teams who've eliminated entire workflows.

Our customers are seeing real impact: 95% faster close times, $200 M of collections processed by our agents , and. $1.5 M recovered in revenue that was slipping through manual processes. One customer told us they cancelled a $85 K hire because streamOS made the role unnecessary.

On the product side, we shipped over 100 new features from contract extraction agents, agents that auto reconcile stripe to accounting, and even do Revenue Recognition on any contract. We maintained 100% retention  and added 35 new integrations. And we proved that autonomous agents can handle the gnarly stuff: usage billing, rev shares, complex contracts that break traditional systems.

What we learned the hard way:

Finance teams evaluate AI differently than software. They're not buying a tool, they're deciding whether to trust machines with money. That means perfect accuracy isn't a feature, it's table stakes. Our finance grade foundation was borne and tested out of that bringing together finance standards training for intelligent LLMs + deterministic execution through code generation + governance.

We also learned that complexity is our moat. The messier the billing model, the better streamOS performs. Turns out "edge cases" are actually the mainstream for any company selling more than 2 types of cookies.

This happened during one of the toughest macro environments for finance leaders in years. Budget freezes. Hiring restrictions. Pressure to prove ROI on everything. Our customers needed results, not promises.

2026 will be the year our agents continue to expand, to learn and not to give too much away, begin to swarm.
